God’s Vision for Arrows International

Given to Jeff Lewis, Founder and Director of Arrows International, in 2007

In 2006, I had been married for 23 years, had 8 children, owned a home and business, and was running a ministry. Within a two year time frame my family went through some major shaking, and after it all, I lost my wife in a tragic car accident. After a time of grieving and seeking God for direction, He began to reveal His master plan. Through a dream, He led us to Oklahoma. He also said He would restore everything that was lost: a home, school for the kids, business, ministry, and even a wife to help me.

“I’m drawing a line.”

Approximately 5 months after my wife died, I went to a men’s conference. On my flight there, God began to give me the vision of Arrows International. He said, “I’m drawing a line. (So I drew a line vertically.) It’s time to cross over and commit your ways to Me. Fully step across. Step into Me. No more one foot in and one foot out. No more balancing on the fence. No more double takes or second guessing.” You see, the double minded man is unstable in all his ways. (James 1:8)

“Surrender all and cross over.”

As He was showing me these things, He said, “Now here you are on the left side of this line; surrender all and cross over. Draw a horizontal line from left to right with an arrow on the right side directing you across.” The scripture that came to me after that was Matthew 16:24 – 25. “Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.’” “Now that you’ve denied yourself, surrender all and cross over; I will begin to sharpen you through my word.”

Joshua 1:8 – “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

Ephesians 6:17 – “…the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God…”.

Hebrews 4:12 – “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

For the first time, looking at the picture, I began to see the revelation. I am like an arrow in the hands of God. The shaft of the arrow is being crafted and balanced by the Potter’s hands and the arrowhead is the sharpening of His word in my life by His spirit.

“When you do all these things, wait on Me and serve Me, I will give you wings to fly.”

In this place, the Lord creates in us the true worshiper.

John 4:23-24 – “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” Then I heard, “When you do all these things, wait on Me and serve Me, I will give you wings to fly”, and the scripture

Isaiah 40:31 came to me. “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Then He said to put the eagle wings in this picture.

“Now you’re becoming a mature man of God.”

The eagle wings became the feathers in the arrow. The feathers help guide the arrow. “Now you’re becoming a mature man of God.”

Ephesians 4:13-14 came to me. “…till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting…”.

“The rainbow represents the promise.”

When this maturity takes place in our lives, we will fly above the storm and cut through the winds of evil doctrine: never to be shaken, never to be thrown off course. Then the Lord showed me the rainbow. The rainbow represents the promise not to flood the earth. But when I see the rainbow, I’m also reminded of all His promises for my life.

“The promises of God are ‘yes and amen’.”

2 Corinthians 1:20 came to me. The promises of God are “yes and amen” – that’s how most people will speak that verse. But I like the King James version, that says, “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the Glory of God through us.” Being in Christ requires steps of obedience. Then He said to put the rainbow on this picture. It became the bow in the hand of God, representing His promises for my life.

“The power of His amazing grace and love will reap a harvest of lost souls.”

Psalms 127:4 – “Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth.” I believe we are like arrows in the quiver of God. Then He said, “Put a full rainbow on this picture.”

I then realized that when we reach this place, we are ready to be released by the hands of God accompanied by all His promises in the fullness of His power, authority, and favor. Full and overflowing with His anointing you will soar with great accuracy, slicing through darkness to hit the mark He has called you to hit. You will not hit it to the right or left, but dead in the center. You will destroy the arrows of the enemy, splitting them into pieces to subdue the earth and advance His kingdom. In this, you will bring forth the heaviness of a greater glory and the power of His amazing grace and love to reap a harvest of lost souls. When you hit your target, you will bring the fire of God, His rivers of living water, the blood of Jesus, and a latter day outpouring of His Spirit!
